BROOKLAND BUMP-BACK

This addition to a semi-detached home in DC’s Brookland neighborhood combines a new upstairs bedroom and a creative space for the family with a screened porch below. An existing sunroom was converted into a den, and a four-panel sliding door now opens onto the porch. The combination of Nakamoto Forestry Alkyd-White shou sugi ban siding, Sierra Pacific windows, stainless break metal detailing, and a carefully selected paint palate gives the addition its distinctive texture.
